韋陀火祭活動

主題：韋陀火祭 – 和平與繁榮的火祭

時間：2008年8月9日 上午9:00-12:00

地點：新竹縣竹東鎮瑞峰觀音寺
韋陀火祭 – 和平與繁榮的火祭。 
將要舉行的韋陀火祭源自於韋陀經典。韋陀經典是人類所知最古老的知識寶庫。韋陀一詞來自梵文，意指「純粹的知識」。此一知識是在創立整個人類社會的靈性提升之時所授予的，因而祂屬於全宇宙的。 

古老的知識是所有人類的無價之寶，無論他們的社會地位、宗教或種族為何。韋陀經典中包含的知識博大精深，涵蓋所有的物質與靈性知識。

舉行火祭是崇拜絕對真理的一種形式，盛行於印度古代的瑜伽傳統中。藉由舉行這項祭典，我們榮耀創造者－聖維施努－並對其慷慨的施予表示感激。

the divine mother of god

From the dealings between Mother Yashoda and Krishna we can understand the exalted position of a pure devotee in loving service to the Lord. Yogis and philosophers cannot even approach Krishna, they must remain very far away from Him. Great demigods always worship the Lord by meditation and service. Yet this same Krishna became so dependent on Mother Yashoda that He sometimes cried before her like an ordinary child. Yashoda was always overwhelmed by intense love for Krishna, not knowing who He was or how powerful He was. Because of her material affection, she never even cared to know who He was. This is an example of pure love for Krishna.

從「雅首達」媽媽和奎師那之間的關係，我們可以理解對主的愛心服務中純粹奉獻者的崇高地位。瑜伽師和哲學家甚至不能夠接近奎師那，他們必須待在離祂很遠的地方。偉大的半神人總是以冥想和服務來崇拜主。連閻羅王都害怕奎師那。然而就是這個奎師那，祂是這樣地依賴雅首達媽媽，有時後會像一個普通的小孩那樣在她面前哭鬧。「雅首達」的心中總是洋溢著對奎師那的母愛，她不知道奎師那是什麼人，祂是多麼地有力量。因為她的母愛天性，她甚至從來不想知道祂是誰。這是對奎師那純粹奉愛的一個典範。

Gajendra

           saved by prayers of surrender

Gajendra, the leader of the elephants, once went with 
his female companions to bathe in a lotus filled lake. 
He greatly disturbed the inhabitants of the water and 
a powerful crocodile immediately seized his leg.

A great fight ensured which continued for one thousand years.

As they were in the water the elephant gradually became weak

whereas the power of the crocodile increased. Finally realizing

he was helpless, Gajendra prayed to the Lord.

Even though he was in the body of a dull beast, Gajendra

recollected prayers from his last life when he had been a

devotee.

群象之首「伽堅鐸」曾經與他的妻子們去開滿蓮花的湖中沐浴。

他鬧得湖中的居民不得安生，一隻兇悍的鱷魚立即咬住了他的腿

部。

大象和鱷魚於是展開了一場激戰，這場戰爭持續了一千年。他們

在水中激戰的時候，大象越來越疲憊，而鱷魚則越戰越勇。伽堅

鐸最後意識到自己是處於完全無助的境地，他便向主祈禱了。

「伽堅鐸」雖然處於一頭愚笨的動物軀體之中，他卻記起了前世

作為奉獻者而吟誦過的禱文。
